A friend of Ananias House was visiting a refugee camp where many children and their families were waiting in desperation for help. The friend explains:
“When you look in their eyes, you see them gazing at you in desperation, yet, they don’t ask for help. You KNOW they need it, you SEE they need it, but they don’t ask for it. It seems as if life has taught them that loss is bigger than the need for things, even essential things like a jacket or bread…
You look at a little girl, and you hear her speak through a sharp look she gives, telling you, “I’m cold!”…But her lips remain closed.”
When churches reach out to the displaced people and Christian workers love on those who lost their homes, their life and even their future, you know that Jesus is still there. The body of Jesus is reaching out to these people to tell them about Christ in words and action. They live the Word of God that teaches, “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” James 2:15-17
Ananias House is working on filling up a 40 foot container with new clothes. These clothes have been donated and what a blessing it is to see this happen! Right now we are working in the Houston area to fill this container.
We need you to come alongside and help in this ministry. Here are the areas that we need help in:
- A warehouse to sort the clothes and store them until the work is done
- Pallets for packaging and moving clothes
- Volunteers: High school and Junior high students, adults, kids and anyone who can help sort clothes based on age and appropriateness
- Funds for shipping and custom fees
- Prayers for the work here and for this container to bless many spiritually and physically
Please consider partnering in giving $25, $50, $100 or more to this effort today. Click here to donate.
To volunteer, or if you have a group that would like to volunteer, please send us an email with your information and the project coordinator will contact you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He always cloth you with His covering as you faithful serve Him.
