Our Ministry Spotlight for the month: Turkey
This letter was received from a couple of our field workers in Turkey:
“Kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth, young men and women, old men and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.” Psalm 148:11-13
Dear beloved friends,
May you forever rejoice and be glad in the joy of the peace of Jesus Christ and His salvation. We want to thank you for your precious prayers and support. Your presence in our ministry gives us great courage and strength.
Dear loved ones, for months you have prayed for us to be able to purchase a vehicle to make ministry more possible for us. Through the generosity of some brothers and sisters in Christ, we were able to finally buy one! We are also able to use this vehicle in both Turkey and Bulgaria. We want to thank you all, especially those who gave financially to allow us to buy this vehicle. Thank you!
During June and July, we went from place to place serving and ministering. We felt so grateful to the Lord for giving us this opportunity and privilege. We want to share a little bit more with you about this blessed time.
- We had a 10-church picnic in Istanbul with 485 people attending. It was a joyful day. Many of the believers had invited their unbelieving friends and family to come, so we also had lots of opportunities to share the Gospel.
- We also got to help in the kitchen of the summer camp for the young Turkish believers, ages 18-30. Young people attended from churches all over the Northwest part of Turkey. In total with participants and staff, about 80 people attended.
- We helped at the camp for the 7 to 12-year-olds. This camp is named The Tree of Life camp, and about 110 people attended this camp. Some of us served in the kitchen but also had opportunities to spend time with the children. We had plenty time to pray for these precious children, and even had the privilege to see some of these kids surrender their lives to the Lord!
These young children are only the Turkish churches’ third generation. Please remember these precious children in your prayers.
Believers from a church in Bulgaria are wanting to start one fellowship in Germany and two in France. This is really encouraging to us. As we try to figure out how to help them and support them spiritually, we would love your prayers. The Lord has done and continues to do a wonderful work amongst us.
There are so many other things we could write about, but one final thing that we need your prayers for is the economic situation and the spiritual depression of Turkey. Please pray for the Lord to help us.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, we send you our deepest and sincere love from Turkey.
