OUR BELIEFS
We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelations of God’s will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority of Christian faith and life.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 10:35, 17:17
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing as the three persons of one essence, the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 104, 139; Matthew 10:29-31, 28:19; Acts 17:24-28; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:9-12, 4:4-6; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born, not created, of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-18; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 3:23-25, 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:1-28; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; Philippians 2:6-11; Colossians 1:15-23; Hebrews 7:23-25, 9:13-15, 21-22; 1 Peter 1:3-5, 2:21-25; 1 John 2:2
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus and, during this age, to convict and regenerate believing sinners, and indwell, guide, and empower them for godly life and service.
Acts 2:14-21, 4:29-30; Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Galatians 3:1-5
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
Genesis 1:26–28, 2:18–24, 3:7–8; Matthew 15:19, 19:4–9; Mark 10:5–9; Romans 1:26–32, 8:8; 1 Corinthians 6:9–13; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 4:17–19; Colossians 3:5
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe. We also believe that only those who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are born of the Holy Spirit and are thus children of God.
Isaiah 61:6; John 1:12-13, 6:37-44; Acts 16:30-31; Romans 3-4, 8:1-17, 10:8-13; Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:3-7
We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
Matthew 26:26-29; Romans 6:3-11; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 1 Peter 3:21
We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. We also believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs.
Matthew 16:17-19, 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 1:22-23, 3:7-21; 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Peter 2:4-5, 9-10
We believe that Jesus will return and establish His Kingdom where God will reign forever, making all things new.
John 5:25-29; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, 35-58; 2 Corinthians 5:1-10; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:3-12; Revelation 19:1-21, 21:1-22:15
