Ministry Spotlight: Church Under Attack

We are issuing a special call to prayer for the believers across the land of Syria. Persecution has greatly increased over the past weeks. There are efforts to shut down churches and potential plans to take possession of church facilities. There have been false accusations. The pressure is particularly intense on pastors and other church leaders. Enemies of Christ are coming together to oppose God’s work. There is a sense of chaos and uncertainty in churches across the country.

But God is still in control! Since Syria experienced a powerful moving of God during the war, it is not surprising that a backlash is rising. Satan is not pleased that the Church has grown, that believers are boldly sharing Jesus, that many have found Christ as Savior, and Christians are being grounded in the Word of God. PRAY Ephesians 6:10-12 for them: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Please PRAY for all the evangelical churches across this nation. They are tiny lighthouses of faith shining across a sea of darkness. In addition, many, even those who claim Christianity are also opposing the church. ASK GOD to make pastors strong and protect their families. PRAY against every effort of those who would close churches and intimidate Christian leaders.
