Therapy Center at School
In the summer of 2017, we made the decision to open a therapy center at the school. Our student body is composed of a diverse collection of religions, ethnicities, and social backgrounds. Moreover, many of our children who come from war-torn or difficult situations, suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome. Parents too, both Lebanese and Syrian, have experienced the atrocities of war and poverty. We knew that we had to go above and beyond merely giving lessons and Bible classes. We needed to make professional help available to our students, parents and teachers.
We firmly belief in a holistic educational approach. We want to give our children a good education but also help them grow spiritually, cognitively, and psychologically.
The past two years, this Center has really made a difference in the lives of a lot of people. We also started speech therapy group sessions for KG1 and KG2. Our speech therapist explains, “Many kids have general difficulties in language. Not all of them require professional therapy. By doing those group sessions, we included all of the kids in stimulation exercises. We managed to meet general needs that will aid the educational process inside the class.”
We firmly believe in this center. We have already witnessed so many positive outcomes through this opportunity. We see this center as an asset to our school. We see it as an integral part of our mission towards holistic care.
Our prayer is that the years that the families spend with us become a source of healing to them.
The school cannot afford to keep this center running, but with the help of people who have a heart for this ministry, the center will continue to help traumatized and struggling children and equip those dealing with them.
We would love for you to get involved in raising $17,000 for this project. If you would like to donate, simply click the DONATE button below and mark your gift: THERAPY CENTER.
